Build to WM 27 was good
Build to SSeries '11 was trash
Build to WM 28 was trash but the match was surprisingly good
Build to WM 29 was good but the match sucked since Rock got hurt half way

overall decent feud, hate that they went the whole worked shoot route with it though
this shyt was a real dream feud and they fumbled it :stopitslime:

Pretty much this. “Once in a lifetime” though :laff::laff:siphoned that feud for 2 years, including killing off Awesome Truth in the process

Cena crushed him on the mic

And rocky blew up in the ring in the matches and couldn't hang with Cena.:manny:

As far as all time memorable feuds? Nah not up there.
They drew big money though so:manny:

I don’t even think it was that long, he tore his pec about two minutes in or something

His cardio stank, he looked blown up and gassed almost instantly

The first match with a one year build was unique, but it had zero lasting impact because they did not want to turn Cena. It made the feud not what it should have been. The second match didn’t need to happen and it damn sure didn’t need the belt. What the fukk does Dwayne the rock Johnson need the belt for? Lol

The way The Rock got the belt was stupid to begin with, ok he comes back at Raw 1000 after being gone for 4 months and tells Punk “hey bro I got a title match at the Rumble” no explanation as to why or what (I can’t lie I was intrigued to see Rock as champ although I was a big Punk fan) then the Rumble comes around, he wins the title on a match restart and won with an awful People’s Elbow then the reign itself wasn’t shyt.

Feud was ok and should have ended after WM28 with the redebut of Brock Lesnar.

I'll give Cena credit for spinning Rock's "Fruity Pebble" insult into a paid contract with commercials securing dat elusive cereal bag

I will never forget shopping in the grocery store and making the :gucci:when I saw this on the cereal alley. :russ:

As for the feud/build up. I enjoyed it because for the first time a WM match felt like a boxing build up. No title was on the line, it was just pride/ego. I remember folks were legit making bets on the match :pachaha: It was a battle between fan bases and I will never forget the reaction videos from Cena fans being legit pissed that Rock won :blessed::ahh:

I always felt that when it came to the mic Rock was being told to hold back while Cena just unleashed on him. I can tell Rock wanted to go off but was told to hold off and he respected it.

You can TELL they didn’t like each other but they put that pride aside and got that bag :obama:

Wouldn’t be surprised if Cena inducts him into the HOF.

Old Heads? It happened in 2012 :dwillhuh:

The build for Part I even though Rocky was never there and mostly via Video, was actually pretty good and generated that big time feel. There was no need for Part II and it even went fully against the tag line of Part I being "once in a lifetime"

If the Punk/Rock Rumble match is any good, we look at that feud very differently

The build to the first match was iffy, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t into it. I was still heavy on the Cena hate bandwagon at that point, and the feeling of animosity between both guys spread to the fan base too, where the feud really split people down the middle where you either rode with Rock or with Cena, so it atleast elicited a sports like feeling.
Why the feud as a whole isn’t looked at in more of a positive light or remembered fondly is because
  1. After a build of once in a lifetime between the two, a lot of people didn’t fukk with them running it back twice, especially since
  2. It felt hollow. They kept playing it up as Rock handing Cena a monumental L that ruined his career, despite Cena going on to cleanly beat a freshly returned Brock Lesnar like 3 weeks later before maineventing nearly every PPV for the next year before the rematch.
  3. It also stalled out Ryback’s momentum, who was red hot at the time, in addition to ending CM Punk’s title reign in a less than glamorous fashion.
If they just ran the first match without doing the rematch for the title, I think the feud would be looked at in a fonder light

I wouldn't say top 5 or anything, but I loved that the matches had that old school "big fight feel". All the flippy shyt is fun, but most new wrestlers don't know how to create that.
