The thread title would be appropriate if she was voicing another CGI alien and not going to actually be herself onscreen but from the description she will be a regular human looking woman who some dude falls in love with and discovers later on that she is an alien.
And if anyone has actually watched Safety Not Guaranteed (the film they say this one will be similar to) then you would know that it is not likely to be heavy sci-fi either. It will be more of a relationship drama with sci-fi elements thrown in.

It seems like the only human roles they are giving her are those where the movie is based in Africa. It's not universal.

Anyway, I hope things change for her and her career expands.

Lupita signed onto to Star Wars because she wanted a role that was less physical. I don't think anybody's forcing these roles on her.
