I forgot to mention that I spoke to some criminologists I know about this and they shot it down. They pointed out other points in history where there was a rise in contamination where there was no an increase in crime among other things, I'll write a better response later. The game's on.

They basically said that there have been periods of crime increases and declines in the US for around 150 years, and several long before lead was a major environmental contaminant. The late 1930s was one such period. And crime plunged from 1981-5 in the US, in the midst of the upsurge in lead contamination. Even if lead contamination does match crime in its scale, there are way too many parts of the story to buy into this. For example, the rise of the internet in exactly the same period when crime began its historic plunge across the world (not just the US) around 1995.

Look at the Conditions of the Crack era and look at the music and entertainers that merged from those same conditions :coffee:

Lead made people extra violent and extra disciplined in the hand-to-hand combats
