Don’t feel bad. I didn’t know who she was either. She’s apparently popular but you have to legit be into to pop to be familiar with her music and know her by name. She makes the type of music you hear when you’re walking around Express or Forever 21 in the mall.

These cats on here acting like the music scene hasn't changed over the past 2 or 3 decades, you tube and streaming platforms have pretty much replaced radio and music video shows. So it's a hell of a lot easier to avoid pop artist even if they are "the most popular in the world" if you're not checking for them. This is a hip hop and sports based forum as well.. dua lipa no. 4 with 66 million listeners a month

da baby no. 10 with 54 million listeners a month

out of the top 10....there were 6 artists I couldn't name a song for with a gun to my head, dua lipa included

you can really avoid hearing the most popular artists/songs in this era

You really can. Thing is, I am a fan of most types of music. Most genres. I even get jiggy to some folk music. But besides rap and r&b I never really go searching for newer artists and music. So when I did have someone link me to some Dua Lipa late last year for the first time and I saw how many fukking views her music had, blew me away.
