Would you watch a version of basketball that was more defense oriented?

let's say the rules of the game were changed and it resulted in fewer scores per possession, making teams have to work a lot harder for points.

let's say instead of teams scoring 80-100 a game like they do now, they were scoring around 40-60.

it would be a drastically different game to watch obviously, with far more emphasis on defense. but scoring would also feel far more monumental as a result. like in other sports.

there's no way you're regularly holding anyone to 40-60 points on a regular basis regardless of rules.

and no, what you're suggesting and the rules needed would likely ruin the game and i'd want no part of it.

- 20 minute halves.
- defense has an extra guy that can't leave the paint.

Fluid, up tempo, offensive basketball is beautiful...and how the game was designed, IMO.

Overly physical, defensive basketball is an uglier and almost entirely different game.
I can actually appreciate both though but agree that the free flowing gameplay is preferred.

But I can still sit down and enjoy those old Heat-Knicks games and appreciate how hard those defenses was forcing the offenses to work.
