Cap might be the better hand-to-hand fighter, but nothing he does is going to put Wolverine down. Steve just doesn't have any attack that Logan won't get back up from.

They way this question is phrased it's already letting me know I'm the one getting beaten up so if I'm going to lose no matter what I would rather lose to the one without claws that could impale me

Also wolverine bones are made of metal so even before he beats me up punching him will hurt. My hand use to swell up after a fight with a human with non metal bones couldn't imagine how bad it would be if I was essentially punching muscle and a steel rod
