Was reading through @Cheercomp's thread about turning down a main roster spot and it got me thinking about this question.

Now we all know that outside of part timers, Vince only lets one or two guys eat as main eventers so the majority of wrestlers will hit the midcard ceiling and never break through.

With that said, being an indie main eventer sounds good on paper because you have less travel and take less bumps on your schedule but at the end of the day everyone wants to make a WrestleMania moment.

If you were coming into the pro wrestling game today, which scenario would you pick?

I think I'd end up choosing WWE midcarder cause I'd still be on TV weekly in front of millions of people.

Edit: To balance this out a bit, you could also work for Lucha, ROH or NJPW while getting indie money on the side.

AJ Styles made $400k in 2015. This year, his base salary alone is $500k.

Obviously he has a better standing in the industry than the other Indy wrestlers, that have joined the E over the past 2-3 years or so. But wih the Mania check + merch, he probably going to make his base twice over.
