A marriage should be the result of two compatible people with similar passions and some level of chemistry -- in my opinion.
It's something that should be spontaneous and organic -- not deliberately paired up by anyone, even a family member.

This is nonsense. Love is chemical, nothing more. If I'm about to marry a crackhead or a fat lazy bytch, I hope my mom intervenes and puts my mind right. My mom usually makes good decisions.

Marriages has never been about that. Its always been about preserving blood lines, accumulating wealth, or joining families.

All of that other shyt is the reason marriages fails because it's not grounded in anything substantial.
I'm aware of the history of marriage. But I doubt any reasonable person today would argue against the premise that a very major...and probably the primary reason for marriage TODAY is love between two people.

I let her tell it, she'd have done it already!

I had to bat down some of her passes already...

I have doubts as to whether many of you would trust your parents to buy you a sweater that you actually liked, much less choose a life partner.
But if you guys truly would, cheers.

Depends how close you are to your parents. Some moms are very protective of their sons and no women is worthy of them except her.

My mom and I have a younger brother older sister relationship. She does not get to choose who's right for me, but she always trusted my judgement.
