That's like saying Michael Jordan slept with David Stern in order to get superstar calls or something. *Just completely overlooking HBK's talent.
So let's just forget that HBK is arguably the most talented wrestler in the history of the WWE.
Wrestling is a business....when your top talent is going through issues, drugs whatever..you throw it under the rug in order to preserve what you have. It's called protecting your asset.
Obviously wrestling is different..there are politics and stuff involved, yet for the most part..the cream is always going to rise to the top...especially back then. I didn't see anyone there cutting any charismatic promo or doing anything spectacular, certainly not Bret. Atom Bomb? Doink The Clown? Roadwarrior Animal? Tatanka? IRS? The "dean"...exactly who do you put in HBK's spot?
HBK was on top because he was supposed to be on top.
If anything, the Rock doing what he did with Patterson is more credible...there is proof that rocky has done some obvious fairy things....literally making out with another man, dressing like a fairy etc. Not to take away from his talent though.
