Let's be honest. Jericho's debut isn't the same if you read a tweet earlier saying "Jericho to sign with WWF, Debut on Monday Night Raw"

Social media makes it harder for most of these guys to always remain in character.

The dirt sheets and forums were still strong then, but nowhere near as strong as social media is now. They'd have had to find ways have been more secretive.

The content, however, would not have gone over as well now. Twitter would have exploded over storylines like Mae Young's hand, Stephanie's crucifixion, Kai En Tai choppy choppy. There would have been so many 24 hour apologies...
