Would I be dumb to quit an office job and work with a non-career job until..

I feel this 100%.

Sheeit I'm sitting here in my PJ's, surfing the-coli, downloading porn, about to get this Diablo 3 popping off, all while making 6-figs and not giving a fukk.

But somehow, I still hate my job. Probably cause I know this gravy train is coming to an end soon. I should probably be proactive and find myself a new gig before I find myself unemployed.

Im going to start looking for a new job soon but I want to save up at least 6 months of expenses. Ive been living way beyond my means the past year or so I cut out a lot of expenses to make saving easier.

I'm bout to walk out dis bytch :manny:

But I need the money :sadbron:

Story of my life right now. Making about 75K on top of additional pay and the keys to the castle will be mine if I can prove myself a worthy heir in the next 7-10 years but its gettin to the point like... is that a risk I'm willing to take and a sacrifice I'm willing to make?

i figure out what I want in life?

I just want to work 9-5, go to gym and come home to the video game, wifey and the family :manny:

I'm over tryna build up my career and status in society, we all gone die anyways and none of that shyt gonna matter :snoop:
this is true. ive recently came to the same conclusion, we're all slaves to money and power. MOST ppl are miserable with their jobs but have to work because they have a certain lifestyle to maintain. ppl want the "finer things in life" ie: the biggest houses, the latest whips, most expensive jewelry, and the latest technology. but at wat cost??? ONLY YOUR FREEDOM AND PEACE OF MIND. my thinking now is that i dont really care about having a certain status at a job if its gonna cause stress and me ending up hating going everyday. id rather be the low man on the totem pole at a regular gig making a modest income and have a peace of mind than being the big dawg somewhere else "ballin" and havin a stress-filled life. i havent read through the thread yet so im not sure if im off subject or not but it sounds like you feeling similar to me

Exactlty.

modest income, good health, family, friends, kids and a wifey > being a workslave and worrying about status.

Ever see The Family Man? :scheme:

Breh, you just gotta treat your job and some shyt you do for 1/3 rd of the day til you can go do other shyt.

nikkas be getting too caught up in they job and forget that it's not their life...it's just something they do to support the life they wanna live.
this is easier said than done breh. a job can fukk your life up if u hate it. whatever job your at is basicly your life nowadays. hell life IS work. bout 6 months ago i worked at a fabric plant. this job turned my entire life upside down. 1st off it was a 12-hr night shift which sucked and 2nd off it was an extremely physically-demanding job. i was totally miserable. yea it was pretty good money but it fukked my whole life up. i love to go jogging and that was impossible to do working there. i was sooo tired all the time and i would sleep all day on my off days due to being so tired from the job. working nights made me feel sad and depressed and overall it jus made me an unhappy person. working 12hrs you have no time to do anything(i maybe touched my Ps3 twice the whole time i worked there) so after 2 months i said fukk it and quit. it jus wasnt worth my happiness and peace of mind. mind you im single with no kids so i could quit since i have no one to support but myself but i feel sorry for ppl stuck at miserable jobs cuz they have a fam to support

Hey I don't know how hard your job is, but I'm sure you worked hard to get there don't give up.

It usually does get hard when your trying to get what you want most but don't let that stop you.

How long have you worked there? If it's not long then you gotta give yourself time to adapt. Toughen up, be a man, and handle your scandal.

If your not really about your career and just want to do it for the money then yeah stop stressing out and enjoy your life. Go back to the old job cause you don't want to take on more financial responsibility and then you can't quit.

Good luck breh and just make sure you don't quit cause it's "too hard"

I write for a newspaper.

I was at a smaller paper and thought that I wanted to be the reporter of the century and I thought the only way to do that was to keep moving up to bigger and better papers, but now, I realize I hate the fast-pace, business of it and rather work 9-5 and NOT think about work outside of work. That drains me :sadbron:

SO, now I'm stuck at a job that is a better company, higher pay and more serious paper, but I don't like it. I been here 4 weeks, today is my 5th week.

I rather just not be stressed, write my shyt and bounce :yeshrug:

This is the career for me anymore, mane :snoop:
smh

didnt you make the move because of money?

I keep telling folk...something change is not good...status quo is ok.

keep things in previous path.

as to changing dont...

not now, the economy is not as fluid...just stick it out...or see if you can go back to the previous job

People with modest ambitions and modest lifestyles seem to be the less stressed and happiest people I know. All of this working to make it big just doesnt pay out for most people.

Real shyt. I'm going thru this shyt right now. I'm an achievement whore and every time I do something I have to top it. Its wearing me out and isn't fulfilling at the end of the day.
