Would Hakeem Olajuwon be the best player in the league today?

Kobe has had a bunch of western conference playoff runs on that level
Not really

His greatest run imo was in the 2009 playoffs. That was Kobe at his peak as an overall player and the Lakers just couldn’t be stopped with him that year, he was a man on a mission :whew:

But Kobe was not on those guys level even then. He was all-time great, but still a notch below the titans

Kobe stans don’t know what transcendent level play is

His best run was ‘09 and he was a notch below the best of the best

Kobe never dominated through a playoff run like Hakeem ‘94 and ‘95 :snoop:

Kobe was great but all those players were on another level than him. There’s a discernible gap between Kobe’s play off performances and those other dudes.

If I could choose a run of Kobe’s comparable to an all-time great it would be his ‘08-‘10 run compared to Jordan’s second 3-peat in ‘96-‘98

Kobe was able to approximate that era of Jordan, specificially ‘97-‘98 MJ. MJ wasn’t quite as explosive athletically (still elite) but focused on mastering his post moves and fade-away magic. Even then Jordan probably had the slight edge over Bean

giannis and embiid going at it looks like a child play. Hakeem schools these kids brehs. Hakeem is in a different tier in terms of skills and winning mentality.

You can't keep Kobe's name outta ya mouth can you?

Why is Kobe even relevant to a debate about Hakeem?

With that said, Hakeem is one of two players (the other being Michael Jordan) that are arguably better than Kobe.

whoever comparing hakeem to embiid makes me sad :snoop:

i mean these fatherless nikkas didn't even wore diapers when hakeem was making nikkas head spin with his footwork.

hakeem's footwork is untouchable. nikkas been tryna learn the art of footwork, but hakeem is the master. ain't nobody touching the sensei. you go ahead keep practicin the moves, but nobody does it like hakeem.

It'd still be KD/Curry tbh. 3 point shot too much of a factor.

Hakeem was nice, but I think a little overrated. I've stated what happened in the WCF vs DRob and how that gets overblown, but even further Hakeem was never the best player in the league when Jordan was playing.

Except Hakeem has probably played with more HoF players in his career than Curry :camby:

Drexler, past prime pip and Barkley

Prime arguably best in the league kd, dpoy Draymond, prime Klay, post injury boogie

Hakeem played with Ralph Sampson too. They played with the same amount of HoFs throughout their career.:martin:

Ralph Sampson is in the hall of fame due to his college career he only had about 3 productive nba seasons and even then he didn’t come close to what he was projected to be, stop with the jive
