Would Drake and Nicki be where they are now without Wayne promoting them?

You really asking if an up and coming rapper could elevate to the same level WITHOUT the help of one of the hottest rappers in the game?

I made a similar topic to this before..
I was taking Drake, Kendrick and Cole and putting all of their cosigns up on it.

Drake came with the largest/most cosigns and people got real mad at me

Nicki had to literally turn into a clown before she got mainstream looks, she was with YM since 2007 and had no paperwork

After seeing @WickedGames threads about the Drake stimulus package i got to thinking, would Drake and Nicki be as big as they are now if they werent promoted by the hottest rapper of the second half of the 2000s?

They're both talented artists but do you think they could have become two of the most popular rappers in the game without Wayne?

i believe he had writers before linking up with wayne. no doubt weezy used his fame to propel him into the spotlight tho

Drake wouldn't be nearly as popular as he is now with out the co sign from arguably the hottest rapper in the game at the time of him coming out.

Nicki clearly blew up from Wayne. She spent time fukking around on her own on those Sub Zero type DVDs, then tried to link with Gucci/Waka/OJ and it went no where, then when she gets co signed by Wayne she blows up.

But who else was there? There was no popular female rapper in the late 2000s.



I agree, she benefitted A LOT from Bed Rock but, but i believe that she would have been able to blow up without it, probably a few years after she blew up with YM.




She also had Gucci, while he wasnt nearly as big as wayne he could still put rappers on. She wasnt some stranger off of the street that no one ever heard of before YM like Tyga

Wayne had nicki before gucci and then she went down south cause of her new manager Deb aka Waka mom
