A rap line is similar to a joke to me.

Every line should be a punchline.

No rapper can rap. Quite like I can. I take a muscle bound man and put his face in the sand.

The first bar leads up to the "punch". Or sometimes you use 4 total bars to lead up to a haymaker.

If rappers are not delivering clever lines then I don't wanna hear it.

Back to the comedian comparison. If he not landing punches every few sentences then he's giving a speech, not doing a standup routine.

That's for the Brehs that say "punchlines" are corny. You may be confusing a punchline with a simile. Your punch doesnt need to include a simile (this is what niqqas call a metaphor. "I'm hot like ????" is a actually a simile).

Anyway. Let me think of a wack one.

When my coke comes in they weight it with the scales that they weigh the whales wit.

It's okay lyrically, but the absurdity of the image IMMEDIATELY takes me out of it.

If this niqqa has TONS of coke.. why is he signed to Puff and even rapping in the first place. You're Pablo Escobar's plug if you're moving that kind of weight.

GREAT example.

Special Ed: I Got It Made is full of ill punches. He was obviously kidding, but almost every line was finely crafted.

Back to the comedy example. A comedian can say something totally outrageous and inflammatory. If it's truly funny then the rest is excused.

I Got It Made is a total fantasy and he presses the issue at every turn. It's absurdist.

Jada portrays his character as an actual killer and thug. So certain things are too outrageous if you're trying to take him seriously.
