Worst Looking Belt Tourney --- NWA's National Title vs. John Cena's Spinner World Title

Spinner gets shyt on all these years later but it's held up better than the US version imo

You gotta factor in fit with some of these brackets, it fit the culture at the time and Cena's gimmick. They just kept it like 5 years too long lol

I don't even think the gold spinner belt looks that bad.

I always liked the spinner belt, unironically. And there were some guys who made it look legit when they held it like Randy Orton. I also think you could take the belt more seriously once it stopped spinning.

The NWA belt honestly looks like some shyt you would make in elementary or middle school.

In doing some research on wrasslin belts while replying to the rounds in this tournament, I came across a post about the Spinner belt and how it was unconventional for the time but it fit that era and how many of the people who held it were unconventional champions in WWE. And really, they were. Edge, CM Punk, RVD, Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio, The Miz even. Hell, Cena himself. So it fit the era and honestly, it didn’t look the worse it felt like a natural evolution of the titles previous to it. It just hung around way too long and looked kinda ridiculous on the guys who were more traditional wrestler types, like a HHH or Randy Orton.

I blind voted for the Spinner belt...then had to change my answer after actually seeing that NWA title. That shyt is atrocious. Look at that slab of uneven cheap looking pinkish red leather. That shyt dont look good on anyone. Why on earth would Billy Corgan bring that shyt back. That spinner belt is ass too though.

Man...we don't even need to continue this tourney. There aint no way in hell you gonna find a worse looking belt than that.

Spinner belt should have been replaced sooner, but at least it looks like a championship belt. That NWA National Title is trash

The NWA belt would look better if they made like the big plate of america and a strap that's like thinner than that plate. And took the birds off. Like the whole belt is just the big america plate and a thinner strap. But that design will probably win this tournament.

I used to feel that same way, but I think for a fair few amount of the guys who held it it fit them in terms of character. Like, do the iconic images that came out of MITB 2011 with Punk celebrating with the title before blowing a kiss and getting outta dodge work as well with like, the Undisputed title? Or does it work with the Spinner belt because that was Cena’s signature version and in taking that from him, Punk beat the face of the company and took their top belt, something that distinctly represented John Cena? Similar for RVD, who you can say similar for and who even found novelty in the spinner gimmick

Edge holding it and eventually having his own version of it made sense, he was Cena’s biggest nemesis so taking his belt and making it his own would be in line for his character. I could probably keep going with like Batista and the Miz but you get the idea.
Obviously this is some context you’d have to apply for yourself and isn’t like some narrative from the company but I feel like it’s an interesting perspective to have with that version of the title.
