Facts. Austin is to white people what Atlanta is to black people. It's their white Mecca. It has all the stuff they like in a city: music festivals, dive bars, college sports (Longhorns), outdoor activities, texmex, and most importantly... no nigg@s. Dating scene is tough for men if you want a black girl... but there are plenty of PAWGs to choose from if you don't. Just don't expect them to throw themselves at you because you got a nice job and a good education. If you're not a Longhorn football player, you gets no love my friend. The city is extremely gentrified and becoming even more so. Rising property values and taxes are pushing blacks into the surrounding counties. Nothing about the entertainment is culturally for people of color... even when a hip hop act is in town, only cacs enjoy it. Jay and Yeezy came for SxSW and the audience was all white. Most black people I know that live there drive to Houston or Dallas for the weekend.

Ive been to Phoenix and Scottsdale. Looking for black people there felt like finding a needle in a haystack.Hate to say it but PHX for its sheer amount of white people who never interacted with groups of black people in their entire lives.
Most of the white people here are originally from Wisconsin, Minnesota, Utah, California, Oregon, Washington and Texas.

There is NO professional black presence in the midwest. East, south, or west coast, no questions asked

true however this scenario can apply to any big cityThe black middle/working class areas are slowing moving further away from the city.
Around the 50's/60's/ Atlanta's Black middle class was in the heart of the city - now that old black part of the city and run down and hood
In 80's/00's the black population made a huge shift to the nearby southern Metro suburbs .ie Decatur/StoneMountian/Lithonia/Union city/ Riverdale etc - These areas are on a fast decline currently.
More black people and black transplants are moving to Gwinnett County and Cobb county which is even further away from the city.
But who knows i just noticed a pattern
Atlanta is a cool place to settle down if ur making good money.
