Worst album before a Classic Album?

Gotta agree...the idea of calling an album a classic within a year of its release is crazy...within a day is ridiculous

I see where you're coming from, but it's easier to call something a classic early when you're dealing with elite lyricism, substance and song structure. The content tends to be extremely in depth and therefore gets better and better with age as you begin to fully appreciate, comprehend, and memorize the material.

When an album has shallow lyrics and is carried by production, that's when calling it a classic early is more likely to backfire.

For example, I called Jay-Z's The Black Album a classic a week after nonstop listening to it, and I feel the exact same way 8 years later. I called Curren$y's "Pilot Talk" a classic early and now feel like a dumbass.

But what about Age? I believe a big part of a classic album is its ability to age well...but I feel what you are saying
