It wasn't until decades after his crimes that law enforcement realized the East Area Rapist, Original Night Stalker and the Golden State Killer were all one person.
Back in the 1970s it took forever for them to even connect the rapes just in Sacramento, realize they had a pattern and a serial rapist, create a task force and actually warn the public. :snoop: All kinds of creepy shyt that never got reported, recorded, connected by the cops.

If the prowling and the break-ins and the stalking and the burglaries and the threatening phone calls and the physical attacks and the attempted rapes and the rapes and the attempted murders and the murders had been even tenuously connected back in the mid 70s to mid 80s he would have been more notorious and feared than Zodiac.
IF the public had had any idea.
The Attacks
Early Attacks
These attacks were focused in a fairly small geographic area in Sacramento, and generally involved attacking lone females.
Later Sac Attacks
EAR continued to attack in Sacramento, and now began attacking couples in their homes.
Attacks Outside Sac
In mid-1978, the attacks moved to other jurisdictions, particularly Contra Costa County, where the EAR attacked for roughly a year.
SoCal Attacks
The "EAR" becomes the "ONS" and the MO tragically changes to murder.

That's what I was gonna say. Only 12? I guess killing for fun vs hitmen is different. Was watching documentary on Pablo Escobar today and Popeye his main hitman had killed 300 people and ordered over 3000 more. He was one of the people interviewed. He seemed free too.
