Visual effects supervisor John Nelson (Iron Man) said World War Z’s zombies lean more toward sci-fi transformation victims rather than supernatural resurrection subjects. That led to a lot of research into animal behavior, especially for creatures under the amok-time sway of predator appetite or spawning urge.

“They are like predatory animals that can’t control themselves,” Nelson said. “I worked with tigers [while shooting Gladiator], and if you watch them when a horse goes by they go batty, even if they know they can’t reach it. When Zs see humans they do same thing, they activate. They launch themselves.”

He went on to add: “There are a lot of things in nature we’re mining as references. They move like birds or school of fish, too, in reactive formations, and it’s not because they have a higher level of [shared] thinking or communication – it’s about their nature and the fact that their instinct to infect is so basic, efficient, and overpowering. They will go through anything. If they lose both legs, they will walk on their hands. They lock in and they’re like salmon going upstream or sperm swimming to be the first to egg.”

Unlike most fresh-water fish or spermatozoa, the zombies in the movie are resourceful when it comes to helicopter attacks. At one point in the film, a surging crowd of Zs climb up and over each other to create a writhing, wobbling column of infected flesh. “Everyone has seen everything in this genre,” Nelson said. “So of course we looked to try to find something new. And we have some.”

Why even use the title If outside of zombies and the un its completely different ? The trailer Does look good like 28 days later on speed but idk how it relates to the world war z book I love .:stopitslime:X
And yes I know why the name was used in reality I'm just saying its a cheap trick they could just call it pandemic or something

Maybe this is only the begining?:ohhh:
Maybe they will make a movie for each of the interviews made in the book.
not all of them, just the best ones:win:

I feel like with that whole mess of toppling over each other flesh we will never see a single zombie scene like walking dead

They are like Michael Bay zombies, too much going on at once

As someone who hasn't read the book and who has heard about all of the hype surrounding the movie ever since it was announced when it went into production...

I don't know what to think of the trailer.. it doesn't look horrible, I just don't see what separates it from I Am Legend besides the wave of zombies. It's directed by Marc Forster.. whos films are pretty much hit or miss for me. But at the same time he might add an edge to it that separates it from most other zombie flicks.

I'm going to reserve judgement but I don't like that they changed up the format and now Pitt is there as it happens as opposed to interviewing survivors

Man the book just wouldn't have worked in movie format with today's audience. Thats why the movie went through so many rewrites.

book was cooo.... dont see how they could have adapted the book into a movie...
did the zombies run in the book? i always imagined them being slow....

ill check for this though.

They lugged around in the book like on the Walking Dead.

That's how they stopped them. They retrained the military to stand in rank like Civil War days and use single shot instead of full auto and take head shots as the hordes of zombies just wade forward. They end of clearing the USA that way.

Thos might be decent but im skeptical mainly because they're shooting for a pg-13 rating. Also that zombie survival guide specifically explained why they cant run. Disregarding the title, ill probably check it out.

Edit: they just decided on fast zombies within the last month. They shot the movie with no definite direction in hiw the zombies would be. That's a recipe for disaster.

Now I'm more concerned.
