The Skeleton Key album was initially a live listening thing and dropped immediately after. Hoping the same here

Also hoping for some drums, more than 7 tracks and minimal yodeling but now I'm seeming picky lol
They had some joints on youtube and 2/3 I heard had strong drums. Also hoping for at least 10 tracks and some bars, and not overly artsy.

I'm kind of confident on the length (pause) just because the only time Al has called anything an "album" and had it be under 30 mins is the Earl project. Usually he calls them EPs if they're shorter projects. And Mos is from an era where I feel like he's gonna give two verses on a lot of joints and not just do the quick 1 verse and no hook thing that some rappers do now days.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this album. I liked the 3 songs I heard on youtube and even the sing-songy Kijani joint that's floating around isn't bad. It's sing-songy but I like that in small doses from Mos.

It could also be lackluster.

The bigger question is are we gonna get focused mos bars or him singing and the not as enthusiastic bars he had on the madlib album

Probably the latter to be honest. I think he's still in his free association more rambling bars bag. His voice and flow is still so dope, though. I still liked his raps on that new Black Star, but I just gave up a long time ago on ever hearing a BOBS type Mos again. I'd be super happy with Ecstatic type Mos to be honest.

Regardless I'm happy they linked up. Mos iat his peak is in my top 10 personal favorite rappers, and Al's in my top 5 favorite producers. Rare to have 2 vets also pair up this far into both of their careers for a full length. Pete and Common just did it I guess, but they're 2 of the rare ones.

Ft. Stewart, Ga
and then it finally dropped on some weird website and nobody heard it. such is life..All madlib production..I liked it! Alchemist doesn’t bs like that with rollouts tho. This will absolutely be dropping, and with a cover and title already out I’d say sooner rather than later

Shiiit I heard it! I signed for that app (Audible) with the QUICKNESS

They also had a fire Dave Chappelle podcast as well.

Last thing I'll say for a little while.

Regardless of how this sounds, I wish more vets without a history of working together would do it. Whether it's rapper/producer or rapper/rapper. I can't think of many artists this deep in the game that don't have any music together that suddenly decide to create a lot of it. That feels like some true artist/creative type shyt, as corny as it sounds. It doesn't feel calculated or like a business move.

Again, Mos is in his own world, so this could be really out there, or it could be grounded. No clue. Alchemist did stuff with Erykah Badu that'll probably drop in 2025 too BTW. And said that 2025 could be his biggest year ever. "“It already looks like next year could potentially be the biggest year ever for me. Just based on the things I have lined up already, I’m just making sure I stay healthy.”"
