I thought this looked dope and I haven't picked up a comic since around '93. :manny:

I dunno what you guys expected though. The team has a giant tree man and a racc00n on it. Of course it's gonna be goofy as hell, you can't "Dark Knight" this kind of story. They had to get into the cosmic shyt if they're introducing Thanos though, and The Guardians of the Galaxy ties into him.

:what: Listen, not every comic film has to be super serious. This may well suffer from some lame ass humor but I think they got the tone down perfectly for this group. There's always gonna be some comedy thrown in..

what interests me more is the serious parts. Will they be able to straddle the line and get serious when the situation calls for it? We'll see. I didn't see anything wrong with the trailer based on what I've read from the source material :yeshrug:

I disliked Iron Man 3 in part (there were a lot of things wrong with it) because while the comedy segments were good.. the villain was never a threat and never treated as a threat. I hope Guardians doesn't travel that same path.

It's directed by James Gunn, he did "Scooby Doo" and the "Dawn of the Dead" remake. So he has range when it comes to tone in his movies. He also did "Slither", which was a great blend of horror/comedy.
