The Americans outshot, outskated, and outhustled us all game. He had no chance at the first 3 goals, they were all perfectly timed and located screened shots. We had all these 1st rounders on defense and none of them played close to as good as Trouba and Jones. The goalie doesn't deserve an ounce of blame, his teammates in front of him do for not showing up.

A great goaltender props his team up when they're playing like shyt in front of him. Subban was hyped at the next big thing, and didn't deliver when it mattered. You gotta make some saves.

As I said, he's not alone in playing pourly, but he deserves his fair shame of the blame, which is considerable.

cdn hockey is dead, even with the lockout and studs all over the place we still choke, you cant really blame subban as everyone sucked, 1 tiny goal? only one game canada played in this tourney in which they truely dominated

Most people will tell you there wasn't shyt he could do for these goals, so still saying he didn't make that big save isn't rational. Switch goalies and it's the same result. 2nd goal Reilly was screening the hell out of him and the 3rd one and American was passing through just as Gaudreau was toe dragging it top corner... 4th goal he should have came out and challenged the shooter.

Either way, those cacs on HFboards have been absolutely shytting on Ryan Murphy all tournament and Spott's got them like for giving him so much ice time. Ryan Murphy's the clear whipping boy and also Dougie Hamilton to a lesser extent.

I hate how people blame the goalie irregardless of what happens in the game, I see it happen all the time in Montreal with Carey Price, it's my biggest hockey pet peeve.

Last year they shielded Nathan Beaulieu for good reason (still fukked us), 4-5 years ago the same but PK Subban, but this fool of a coach let Murphy play a regular shift...

I'm not a big Grapes fan but he seemed pretty complimentary to the U.S. team after the game

Needs to get fact check though. While were taking more CHL guys to the WJC that doesnt mean they've "developed" in the Canadian system.

Canadian hockey is nowhere near dead. It's just that other countries have gotten better. The coaching staff really fukked by putting almost no toughness on team. This must be the the softest roster we've ever iced. The only big hit I remember is the Boone Jenner hit on the Swedish guy.

Good thing the USA didn't have Fulton Reed and Dean Portman on the team.

I really wanted to see this guy make the team, he throws Scott Stevens hits.

Word it's become a habit (see Luongo even though he won the Gold in the Olympics). the U.S. has been producing better goalies than Canada for a minute and I know that makes some people furious.
