GOing in to this fight I thought Gassiev was the limited fighter but his movement and fighting off the back foot was nice, good defense too. He’s a lot better then I thought.
Abel has those guys conditioned like no other, he was looking fresh and strong in the championship rounds.

Yea he said about a year or so ago he wanted to unify CW and move up, he could accomplish than in May but I was thinking a few more years down the line.

Gassiev is classy but they shoulda taken dorticos to that medical checkup ffs

It was a good fight, Gassiev showed some good defense even though he was behind in the cards for me until like the 10th round and was touched up by Dorticos’ jab.
Dorticos showed a big heart his defense was just non existent though. I mean his defense was basically staying out of Gassiev’s punching range but as the fight wore on he could execute that less and less. To me at one point seemed like Gassiev is tired af but he was fresher than Dorticos in the last 3-4 rounds.
One thing these guys need to learn though is to throw more kind of punches.
Dorticos: only jabs and straight right
Gassiev: hooks and uppercuts
I know this is coming from their style and their range but still... a little more variety.
I suspect Usyk will win the final now and that with Usyk vs Briedis we saw the 2 best cruisers fighting already but I wish to be wrong and I’m gonna root for Gassiev in the final.
On another note this cw division is nice but I still wouldn’t put any of these guys to the Crawford, Loma, Spence, Golovkin, Canelo, Mikey, etc... level, the winner gonna be mentioned with these I guess and based on the resume rightfully so but based on my eye test none of these guys are on that highest level.
Say it like if I have to go on eye test I would put neither of them in top 10 P4P but there are 2 or arguably 3 of them who could slide into a top 20.
So high quality guys with matchups which are fun, that’s the point anyway

But I thought Duttykos had more variety than that smh. Jab-straight, jab-straight, jab-straight and sometimes jab-looping right. I'm a bit disappointed by him but props to Gassiev, man ate plenty of jabs but was really nice with the combos
