The wife and I have been lifting weights together for a month or two. I've been going for years, but she's just getting back to the gym (she's always been an off-and-on runner, but never really into weights).

I think the plan is to get her comfortable and with a good understanding of how to mix up lifts ... then we can go together and workout separately (or somewhat separately).

I'm good with being there to spot her, encourage her or whatever - but, when we do the same routine, I'm switching weights between EVERY SET of every squat/dead/bench. So, for a deadlift, I'm basically switching between 315 and 85. Not that fun.

But, it's worth it if it gets her back into the gym. I think it has more mental benefits than physical.
Good lord fam  U love that girl cause I usually work out with 405-445 on deads and I can't imagine unloading that shyt down to chick weight and then reloading it. Hell that shyt would be a workout in and of itself

It's not my favorite thing on earth, man ... but, I got 13 years in this thing. I'm not going back to playing the field. There's just certain shyt you got to do (well, I got to do).

But yeah. It's a temporary thing ... I hope:sadcam:

Put wifey on to DB swings

yeah. we do kettle bell swings/snatches and dumbbell lunges also, depending on the day.

It's fine. I spend a little more time in the gym since i'm switching weights ... but whatever.

This happened with me too ... the thing I like is that she sees me winded after doing my sets and she feels that she's not pushing herself to her limit, so she wants to try the heavier stuff

Why don't you let her do her set first, they you go afterwards? Constantly changing the weights would be exhausting and time consuming :why::dead:. At least you there to support your girl.

No way. To me, my bf is the sexiest dude in the gym. I go there to work out and not check out other dudes. It's nice to have him around sometimes cause dudes like to push chicks around...thinking they own the gym and or have first dibs on machines over women. Last weekend, I went to use a machine and these young guys came up to me asking if one of them can finish his set first...I was like "okay whatever, but no one was at this machine so I didn't know it's being used" my bf saw and got livid and was about to go confront them, but I was like just leave it...I'll wait a few minutes. He's like "nah they're working out together so they can share a machine"...anyway, it's nice to know he's got my back like that in situations.
Your bf was probably happy as fukk you told him to leave it alone. He know he wernt really gonna go over there making all that noise to get stomped out in the gym :mjlol:
