I don't know if it's still the same, but we are one of the few countries, where bartenders, servers, and other folks in the hospitality industry make the majority of their money off tips.

fukk it then. invest in a flask. put some hard liquor in there. buy a beer or a pop at the bar. you can spike your pop with whichever hard liquor u bought and post up at the bar all evening for under $5 then.

But yeah, its a good topic. The only thing about London tho, some of the classier, more upmarket hotels don't let u drink at their bar unless ur staying at the hotel, which might throw some salt into ur game.
I remember going to a couple of hotels near where I used to live back in the day with a friend and they wouldn't let us drink there cause we were not guests. We tried to convince them to let us have a couple of drinks there but they weren't having it.
Try just-out-of-the-city breh, not Mayfair, go for Shoreditch, Great Eastern Street/ Heathrow, Gatwick or even other cities for those wayward skets
