I just found the study interesting. And me and my bf talked about it and we agreed we'd both change our last names. He HATES his father (he used to cheat on and beat his mom, never married his mom, used to call the both of them useless and once even spit in his own sons face at age 10!) and doesnt want his last name, I love my dad..but dislike his side of the family. When we create our dynasty, we will both choose or rather make up one. Start from scratch as the Queen and King of our lives.

DO OR DIE
If you love and respect the man you're marrying it should be somewhat of an honor to take on his last name. Its really becoming apart of him more.

I think the only exception is if you're older & established. My mom got married for the first time at 55 but was already successful in her field and recognized so she hyphenated. Since she has a lot of open cases/clients I think the random name change would be confusing anyways legal doc wise.

I do know some hippie people though who were Quaker all about that equality stuff so mixed their last names. Crawford (him)+Rueff (her)=Crauderueff

Most women that don't take their husbands last name do it for business reasons. They are often already successful when they get married
this. i use my last name for my business and biz related accounts because i started my biz BEFORE i got married. i use his last name for just about everything else tho...

This is exactly why you don't marry these western women. What in the world is the point of getting married if you can't abide by the simple rules? If women ain't taking the last name, men need to refuse getting on one knee and giving a woman a ring and they need to refuse lavish wedding ceremonies unless her famliy is paying for it all.
Men ain't really abiding by the "rules" either. Many of them ain't really living up to the provider roles things have changed in society. So if these women are out of pocket whose fault is that really?

Secondly, you mention not marrying "western women" but women changing their name is more embedded in western culture than the rest if the world.
