Exactly so why was she contacting Kai and doing her own investigation?
That was the point. Victims shouldn't be gathering info that way because if Kai had half a brain he wouldn't have even responded to her texts.
You think police can't solve a crime if the victim can't provide a name of the perpetrator? Are you being obtuse?
She had a photo with him in it and his face circled. Give that to the police and they can ID him from there. Police solve crimes when the victim didn't even see a face. Did that Idaho college student massacre not get solved?
Victims of crimes do their own investigation ALL the time, it doesn't matter what the crime is but when it comes to rape if they didn't know the person then yes many do seek to identify them on their own.
It don't matter what you feel victims "should do", just look on any social media platform or forum; there are countless examples of people looking to identify perpetrators of crime against them.
it's not that I
think police can't solve a crime without the name of a perpetrator, I
know they don't have a good success rate at that and solving crimes.
In 2018, just 46% of violent crimes and 18% of property crimes ended in an arrest, according to data from the federal government.

What the statistics — and my personal experiences — show about how little we should expect when we are crime victims.

It’s all right there in the FBI’s official crime data. Law enforcement solved less than half ― just 46% ― of violent crimes and just 18% of property crimes in 2017, the most recent year for which numbers are available. Homicides and aggravated assaults were the only types of crime with clearance rates above 50%. They also solved only 35% of rapes, 29% of robberies, 14% of burglaries, 19% of larcenies and 14% of automobile thefts. Other FBI data shows that murder cases are less likely to be solved when the victim is Black.

that idaho massacre investigation can't be compared to this because the FBI was also apart of it and it had national attention. her case will probably get fast -tracked too because of the social media attention brought to it as well.
why do you think police are posting pictures of suspects daily because they're desperate to identify them.
