Maybe I'm misunderstanding the situation. To me it sounds like dude was in a fight and got caught by a punch and was literally out on his feet. In that situation when you're about to be unconscious, and it's taking everything in you to stay standing, you not gon be able to be swinging and of course you putting your hands up to try to defend yourself.
