:heh: so you're comparing the French Revolution to a nikka recording a baby being mauled by a dog instead of helping the child, then uploading it for some youtube views and twitter followers.

okay.

Just as currently as the 20th century Whites would throw Lynch parties. this shyt isn't new behavior. the technology is. Hell even then they had photographs of the shyt.

:what: what the hell are you talking about?
All I said was one persons misery has been another persons form of entertainment since the existence of Man.
If the internet existed during that time, The French Revolution would be on BestGore.com

:whew: whoo. okay. Let me try to knock this out in one fell swoop:

I'M saying that people are more apt to not only watch human suffering, but the ability to become famous for even a millisecond for being the one person to see it means that they have gotten used to the "conditioning" of having a reward for it (fame, views), and will therefore be more apt to do nothing in the face of human suffering but pull out a cell phone..... and record it.

Just as currently as the 20th century Whites would throw Lynch parties. this shyt isn't new behavior. the technology is. Hell even then they had photographs of the shyt.

YOU'RE saying that people have always enjoyed watching human suffering. I'm not denying that. but you're speaking on the VIEWERS of these videos, not the one person RECORDING the video.

And we're not talking racists who get together in groups to kill one person because of the color of their skin. Why would any of them be willing to stop the others if that's the intent of the group?

We're not even talking about soldiers and the like who simply watch people die because "they're following orders".

We're talking one person watching and recording instead of doing something as simple as NOT recording and dialing 911.... because he felt that he could gain a little fame for not helping, but for recording and uploading.

:what: what the hell are you talking about?

I brought up the French Revolution because you brought up beheading. And unless the Scarlet Pimpernel or The Three Musketeers were in the crowd, I wouldn't expect anyone to swoop in and save a person from a state ordered sanction.

But apart from that, I could really cut and paste the same response here.

You're BOTH trying to explain to me why people watch these videos, as if I'm saying no one ever watched another person suffer for their own enjoyment before.

Totally missing the point.

I'm saying that the ONE person who recorded it would rather have his ego massaged than help.

NOT the people who watch these videos. The Person recording it.

not the viewers. the person holding the phone.

hell, dial 911 then record the ambulance/cops or whatever.

but that would get less views.

Well your original post was that we are a generation programmed to be "watchers and attention seekers"
you've been almost successfully programmed to be a society of watchers and attention seekers rather than activists and helpers.

don't you see what was done to you?
My argument is that there is no difference between that, and older generations. Both sat by and watched horrific acts for entertainment. So we weren't newly programmed to sit by and watch things like this. And Now you want to solely focus on the Cameraman(The attention seeker in your original post) in order to better your argument?

The idea of gaining notoriety for being the person who may eye-witness a horrific act isn't new either.

If you're pulling out a cell phone to record human misery to put on worldstar for some views, you're watching something for the sake of getting attention.

You may be hiding behind actual anger over what you perceive to be a "blanket/generalized" statement over something as benign as "dissing your generation" , but I highly doubt it.

you've been almost successfully programmed to be a society of watchers and attention seekers rather than activists and helpers.

Notice how I didn't say anything regarding age of any kind. Society doesn't begin or end with a group's age. This isn't Logan's Run.

I said what I said.

If you're pulling out a cell phone to record human misery to put on worldstar for some views, you're watching something for the sake of getting attention. Nobody's viewing it from worldstar for attention. Only the person recording is.

If you misunderstood where I was coming from, then that's fine. Hopefully I've explained it thoroughly enough.

But now that I've explained it for you, what's the point of arguing with me?

No this generation is shyt, there's no argument there. I'm just saying the whole misery being a form of entertainment, and wanting to gain notoriety for having eye-witnessed the act is nothing new. The technology to do it is

:heh: I'm sorry, friend.

I wasn't aware that there was another time in recorded human history where people used personal handheld telephones with built in video cameras to record videos of foolishness and/or horrendous acts to upload on a thing called "the internet" for some "views" and 5 seconds of fame instead of using said telephone to call someone for help, if not outright help themselves.

But I will agree that people as a whole never gave a fukk about people, I'll give you that.
You idiot, they never had the technology to do that back then, if they did, they would've. Human beings have never been and aint ever gon be sheeit.
