Gay men make excellent wing men in my personal experience. They make you look sensitive and open minded and when girls find out you're straight but still friends with them.
One of my best friends growing up turned out to be gay. I used to protect him from bullies and all the upper-middle class white girls were all about it. Normally they don't like violent stuff but if you're protecting a dude fella then you're 100% okay by them.
Don't get me wrong, I'm 100% against homophobia and would do it regardless of whether or not there was something else to be had out of it, but I'm just saying it was a nice perk!
