"I'm going to send them a request to the league tomorrow that we can play with worn-out basketballs. I'm not sure why we're in real games in brand-new basketballs. Everyone who has touched a ball brand new, it's a different feel and touch than a worn-out basketball. I didn't realize it until the timeout there was a long rebound and I grabbed it. I was like, 'What? Why are we playing with this ball? Give the guys the opportunity to pick a good basketball.' You think I'm joking? I'm neurotic,'" Redikk

Ok, the balls used during games are balls of the home team. The team captain of the opposing team chooses which ball to use (don't know if they still do this). If balls aren't broken in, that's the fault of the home team. Reddikk KNOWS THIS!! They are given balls before the season to break-in . I have a lot of official NBA balls throughout the decades and a couple game-used balls. A new leather basketball that hasn't been broken in is horrible. Once it's broken in, it basically sticks to your hand with sweat. They are different than the high school/college Wilsson composite leather balls that get slippery once wet.
