Show was good. But fukk Wolverine

I like Wolverine but I hate the fact that they try to make everything revolve around him lately when it comes to X-men media. Dude is becoming oversaturated in almost all mediums when telling X-men stories.

Logan gets gully tho.

One criticism I have for this show tho,
Storm was kind of in the background for the majority of the time, we get why Cyclops was being all sad and shyt since Jean was presumed dead for the majority of the season, leaving Wolverine to lead - but Storm is supposed to be 2nd in command, yet they didn't do that good of a job to illustrate that. Maybe they would have in the 2nd season as a lot was going on ... but I guess we'll never find out :wow:

That's why I didn't like the hero stories of it and only really cared for the Genosha parts...Wolverine is not a damn leader and damn sure isn't gonna out think Storm on the battle field or in decision making.

the Wanda / Kurt romance was a great spin on things and well done. The elf the type of nygga that an old nygga would want his lil daughter to settle down with just off personality and class. he got that 'tegrity. the fact that this same nygga opposes Erik's philosophy and refuses to be about that life but is all about protectin dude's daughter... and that she's loyal to her father but basically would be havin his cubs in any other circumstance...

..that makes for a far more interestin love story than whatever the fukk has been goin on in the comics with her and the vision and they make believe kids

marvel has had this obsession with emma frost (in particular) and cyclops for a while now, i imagine since morrison did that new x-men run over a decade ago?

its funny because fox, or whoever has their movie license, didn't really give a shyt about either of those characters like that, and made a point to put wolverine rogue and storm (alongside prof x, jean, and magneto) in the forefront of the films, prob because of popularity (logically)... yet marvel is just head set on pushin emma over storm jean rogue and anyone else as the top x female.

and of course while storm should have more of a presence and be a co-captain in all that decision makin s-hit, wolverine has to be "leader" because of his popularity and cyclops has to be "leader" because marvel internally been pushin him as that forever. so storm is the odd one out.. or she gets to be "captain" of some subsidiary group that answers to one of the above lol

I mean, Cyke has always been the leader. Its just the way it is. And he really started coming back to the forefront with Joss Whedon's Astonishing. shyt was fukking epic and set the stage for how Cyclops is now. I mean, the nikka is a boss. Even has Magneto taking orders and shyt now.

Storm was always the more popular character to Cyclops, despite his push. They kicked him out of the book during the Twelve finale but they would never consider killing Storm or playing that Phoenix rise bullshyt game with her like they do with Jean because she's the most iconic female character in Marvel history. Why they are trying to make Emma matter so much? Who's behind it all of that? Nobody really knows. It kicked into high gear when Morrison left his imprints on that New X-Men shyt and Bendis took over the Avengers line back in 2003/2004.

yea, i meant more so emma than summers. with that being said, this whole "being a boss that even magneto is taking orders from him" is part of that recent push i'm talkin about. they really tryna take his character growth to the next level and beyond.. while they basically have storm muddling around in the background or having domestic disputes with her husband in the battlefield.. because apparently neither is logical enough to think things through when someone gives them orders to attack the other.

see with all that utopia s-hit that they wanted to use to prop up summers... they easily could've went the other way and said: "look, storm is now a billionnaire queen of her own highly advanced afrikan country, a country that has never answered to nobody and can go toe to toe with any nation... so if she wants mutantkind to take sanctuary there and be safe in wakadan borders... so be it." All the nitty gritty details as far as specific location, headquarters, her husband's thoughts about it, etc... that shyt wouldn't matter, because if editorial wanted that, they would make all the characters and circumstances agreeable to the plot to make it work the same way they made magneto, namor, and all the plot stuff make the utopia thing feasible.

it all just comes down to marvel's preference and sometimes they side with popularity (like all things wolverine) other times they just strong or stubborn with tradition (cyclops imo) and other times they just on some other shyt (emma)

It was pretty much the most intriguing thing of the season next to her loyalty to Magneto. Her having to make those choices between mutant liberation at Magneto's side and keeping Kurt above water was a good contrast. Something we never got to see in the main 616 since it became about vilifying Magneto in the eyes of his children until Children's Crusade last year.

yup, the one thing that disappoints me about the show being canceled is that the kurt/wanda angle died with it. sometimes if a show is popular enough, the main comic universe will take notice and try to emulate certain things (john stewart as the main gl in justice league.. or kaldur making more appearances a lil bit back after young justice blew up)

and given how marvel's has been treatin wanda's character for the last decade (not that they've done kurt that much better), i think it would've benefited them to take some notes from the show. at least with that particular angle

This show was fun to watch. It's unfortunate that it got canceled after 1 season. The Age of Apocalypse looked like it was going to be something serious.

This show was set in the same continuity as Earth's Mightiest Heroes ... I guess the cancellation was a sign of things to come :to:
