Wiz Khalifa is not here for the claims that he fell off — and he has the receipts to back up the fact he hasn’t.

The Taylor Gang CEO dropped in to the Back On Figg podcast that was streamed live on Friday (October 27). When co-host T-Rell asked his thoughts on the haters that say he isn’t hot anymore, Wiz broke down exactly why that’s not a factual statement.

“I think people are always gonna say that if you’re not right in their face, but if you look at what I do or the amount of shyt that I put out or how constantly I’m working, you can’t say that,” he said. “Even the old songs that I have, they’re still streaming, they’re still popular. The n-ggas who might have old songs, they can’t do those old songs right now.”

He continued: “They can’t sell tickets, they can’t go places across the world. So I’m still able to do those things and I’m still releasing newer music. So that’s not even possible to say that and be real about it. You can say it because that’s what you think, but if you add it up, it don’t make no sense.”

I don’t think he’s wrong.

There’s a difference between falling off and just not being hot anymore. Wiz was one of the biggest rappers in it for awhile, as he grows up and his fans grow up newer artists come into it and all the kids find their favorite rapper, and now he’s the one whose hot. That’s how it works.

Might be biased because he just dropped Khali Sober which I really liked…. But yeah. Still capable of quality music, can’t expect for him to be one of the hottest rappers in the 18-25 demo, they have their own favorites.

Black people always tear down their own entertainers. SMH.

Wiz didn’t fall off. He rich as hell.

His commercial prime is over but who cares. He still does shows and makes money.

Falling off is like what happened to DMX sadly. Or rappers from the past who can’t do shows or make money anymore. IMO.

Then he fell off.:skip:
50 cent is still rich and sells out shows across Europe. You wouldn’t say 50 fell off?

Funny cause it's inevitable to fall off.

Either you're on top.. or you've fallen off of the top.

Doesn't mean he's totally cold.

To me being hot means you're popular in America now. All the rest of the European tours and dedicated fan base shyt is the pension plan.

Extremely

Then the conversation becomes conflated with something the artists did wrong…

“Go back to your old style.”

Nah…nikkax just graduated high school or college and went on to something else with another set of kids filling their shoes

Big fan

Bro definitely fell off. Going from no skips on anything to dropping full projects with maybe only 1 track going to the playlist is falling off. Consistently sounding uninspired compared to the energy you put out when you were booming is falling off.

Sure them old joints still hit but that's old. The musical quality noticeably diminishing is falling off. nikka used to write verse with complete bars, and then went to writing half bars and just reverb the shyt. That's falling off. The content isn't as quality as it used to be. Beats and production ain't gone make up for the lack of presence, at least not for me.

Last album was kool tho

He has a point, but Wiz aint going to do numbers that will compete with top rap acts today.

Wiz could do shows at larger venues better than a lot of his peers because he has an established fanbase and hit songs.
