Witnessing ya childs first touchdown or basket appreciation thread

My lil 6 year old just went 40 yards the 2nd play of the game for his first touchdown.

Me while the play was unfolding went from

Is that reaction normal for those who have experienced this?

Very normal. That's how I feel inside every time I watch my 12 year old daughter play basketball. She's a beast. I fully expect yall to know who she is in about 6 years. I feel those emotions on the inside because I'm on her aau teams coaching staff. So when she's making 5'10 white girls fall, then need to be helped off the floor, I'm sitting there like this I try not to look like I'm favoring her or only coaching my kid. Plus I told her early on to "act like she's been here before" and to play like what she just did to you is really nothing special, that's just the way the game is gonna be played that afternoon. No big deal. She kinda got a Joe Dumars/Andre Miller demeanor with a lil more fire going on.

Were you the parent that was like "YEAAAAHH!! YEEEAAAAHH!! WHAT'S UP!!"

Growing up I used to play with these 2 brothers and their dad was so damn gung ho. He'd come down and yell at them and shyt. So awesome.

I don't have kids, but folks ya'll doing your sons a disservice if you don't introduce him to baseball; hockey, wrestling, soccer, or tennis.

Sure basketball and football are more popular for us, but not everyone is gonna make it, so it's always good to put your sons on w/ a lot of sports. I'm not saying force your kids to play it, but show an abundance of sports, and put them in the ones that they take interest to.

I was already thinking wrestling and baseball, and his mom brought up soccer. Right now he does Football, Bball, and track. Real talk I wish the sport of Lacrosse could gain more attention as well. Ive never played it before but it looks fun to me.

That's the thing, we gotta put our kids on w/ more than B-Ball and football.
Not everyone is gonna be LeBron or RG3, but hey your son or daughter might fukk around and get a full scholarship for Wrestling or Golf.

Thanks man. Hell yeah you know exactly what I'm talking about. Some of these parents are quick to try to say their kid isn't getting enough attention. Some parents are delusional too. Had a girl last year that wasnt very skilled but her main problem was that when she got on the court she was terrified. It clearly showed and throwing her the ball was a turnover 11 out of 10 times. She didn't play alot. In close games, she didn't play at all. Her father who is a basketball coach pulled her off the team. He said she didn't play enough, should be starting, and should rarely come out. He was dead serious. Me and the other coaches were We assumed since this dude coached the game as well, he saw what we saw. Somehow he didn't...
