I like the song, but I agree that it is basic and nothing special. Its success just shows that there is a HUGE appetite for R&B, but the mainstream music industry has intentionally chosen not to promote it (unless it's cacs singing it).

The people who are extremely impressed by this song are the same ones who think R&B is "dead". I am constantly shouting from the hilltops about how much amazing R&B/Soul music exists in this era. You just have to do a little digging.
