Issue isn't if he will be good or not, I think he will but will he be good during Stephs last run. Warriors are in a tough position. I felt like LaMelo was the best of both worlds, someone who can contribute right away and also be your future piece. Warriors really haven't had great bigs in their runs because with Draymond you dont need one. You just need a capable big.

Durant in reality was one of those bigs along with Green (and don't shortchange what Bogut did for them as a passer and defender). If anything, they did try the "fukk it, play whoever at C" route and it didn't work. Wiseman offers long term stability there long after this core is done and you gotta try something else). All these contenders got lanky players with size that Draymond can't contain alone.

How much value could Ball have as Steph's backup?

Honestly still think he’s gonna be a beast. He’s just on a different tl than the warriors team. They should move him.

Pipe Dream Scenario: If I’m GS I hit up Minnesota and see if they come up off of KAT for him and pieces cause Minnesota is gonna suck for the foreseeable future. Ant, wiseman, and whoever they’re gonna draft in the top 3 could grow together. Warriors would get the ultimate big in there system

Not shortchanging Bogut, Bogut was the 5th most important player on the roster. The Warriors won two without Bogut and would have won 3rd if not for injuries. Had nothing to do with whoever at the C. They 100% win vs Raptors if KD/Klay are healthy.

Wiseman is not going to produce how you want him to produce for the next 2-4 years, which is essentially as a 2nd or 3rd best player. Its unfair to him too.

He just does not match Steph's timeline and Warriors FO has to decide whether they want to fully go in for Steph's last run or develop Wiseman and be okay with being a good team (not a real contender) moving forward.

Ball would not be Steph's backup, he would play next to him. Steph is one of the few superstars who is elite offball. Even with LaMelo Ball you can ask the same questions and might want to trade him for a more ready star if you want to fully go in.

If Bogut was the 5th most important player, then what was Shaun Livingston? Ultimately, when Klay comes back, that woulda been LaMelo's role. They're not starting all three of them together because they have to justify Wiggins' contract. At best, everyone would just be offering Ball up in trades for Beal or whoever. While that's happening, they'd be getting fried in the frontcourt. That small ball shyt isn't gonna beat the Lakers or Nuggets.

Bogut was more important than Livingston or equals.

To your second point, do you see Wiseman offering that the next 3 years? Again this isn't about him being bad or good, its what is he offering you the next 3 years? Draymond would be the one covering AD/Jokic, not Wiseman. It is about giving Curry/Dray/Klay one more chance for a run vs staying put and developing. A raw 19 year old is not giving you that.

Warriors can develop him and keep him for future because trading him won't guarantee a ring. Like I said, their FO has a serious decision to make. The Warriors big 3 had a great run and maybe they are okay with being a 5th/6th seed for the near future while helping develop the young guys.:yeshrug:

I think people are short changing Wiseman. He's already averaging 12 points in 20 minutes a game. When Klay is back, he won't have to carry a heavy burden.

That small ball shyt would atleast have them at 4-5 more wins so they can atleast make it to the Lakers or Nuggets. At this rate they won't even get there.

You mean I wanted to trade Wiseman for pieces that would've helped this team maximize this core's closing window?

:lolbron:

You sure told me.

:picard:
The window is closed because they chose to pay Draymond Green $25 million a year.

Marcus Smart and Draymond on the court at the same time is laughable

Petty Vandross.. fukk Yall

the commentary is there because all this talk about his age is asinine , since you had rookies u could have picked, or trades that could have made , that would helped you not just in the future but also NOW in the present

:francis::stopitslime:all this bu bu he is 19 ,give it time ?? how old is MELO .... :hhh: how old is deni , who else could you have traded the pick for that could have helped now and in the near future , instead of dependin on 1 legged klay and a aging steph next year

use some fn common sense:wtb: the goal is to get the most out of the star you have at the moment .. not wait for the rookie to develop in 3 or 5 years time

his age doesnt matter u dumb f ..once again look at .lamelo...this is a kid who can deliver now ..and also 5 years from now ( which is when wise men will finally develop):stopitslime:

your FO dropped the ball and picked a rookie who wont move the needle for another 3 to 4 years and in the process miss the boat and waste steph Klay and Draymonds final years :mjlol:

I'll dunno who is dumber you or your FO:piss:
