False, thin people cannot be just as unhealthy because they don't have as much body fat. That body fat, especially around your heart and other vital organs, is dangerous. They may not be fit, but they're definitely not as "unhealthy". That's just ridiculous. :rudy:

And how the hell can you be obese and very healthy? :dahell:
Thin people can be unhealthy if they're underweight.

Not sure about the obese and healthy part :pachaha:

At the beginning of mean streets
If you're thin and old (and white) you could have brittle bones :yeshrug:

That's due to age because your bones give out after a while due to calcium deficiency (especially for women, after having children, menopause, etc.) it's different than struggling to walk cause you're morbidly obese.

It's just not evolutionarily advantageous to be overweight or obese and in the developed world they outnumber "emaciated" (starving) people. So it's just not an argument that you can use here.

I never said it was okay to be overweight or obese

And when I talked about underweight I wasn't necessarily talking about starving or anorexic people. I'm sure thin people got their problems just like obese/overweight folks do. It may or may not be caused by their weight though obviously I don't know much about the subject :yeshrug:

I'm not :cape: for unhealthy lifestyles.

I have an ex who is 5'9 and she fluctuates between 140 and 150 but look hella skinny. SO i guess it depends on the persons height because 140 on someone tall might look skinny and 140 on someone short will make them look round and plump Ill post a pic in a few

When you say underweight, that usually indicates they do not have enough fat on their body so in a sense it's dangerous because you need adipose tissue for insulation and to cushion the body (especially vital organs) and conversely, too much adipose tissue it isn't beneficial either because it can interfere with your bodily functions (such as fat tissue building up/clogging your arteries).

It's all about being fit, at the end of the day, but no matter what anybody says being overweight or obese is not healthy. Carrying extra weight around your body that isn't muscle is unhealthy. It slows you down and you cannot perform as efficiently.

I'm pretty sure as women we need some body fat that isn't muscle though, aren't we supposed to be between 18-25 body fat :lupe:

Are you suggesting that they don't weigh them at these tournaments? I was under the impression that is how the weights were determined.

I'm pretty sure you're just talking out of your rear.

Most women in tennis have inaccurate weights listed. Maria Sharapova is listed at 6'2" 130. She'd be a skeleton at those figures, and definitely not athletic enough to compete in pro tennis.

Skylar Diggins is listed in the WNBA at 5'9" 146, and she's slender. There's no way Serena is only 9 pounds heavier than her.

Serena is built more like Buffie the Body, who lists herself at 5'7" 175.
