So he always says things like "he openly admitted that he is making negative progress on the book."? I've always read that he's working on it, slowly yes, but this is the first I've ever heard of him making negative progress.

He had to essentially rewrite the entire Dance With Dragons book because he wrote himself into a loop(Or it may be Feast, i'm not sure), so yeah this has happened before

god forbid he enjoys his success and lives a life outside of giving you words to readThis ain't got nothing to do with genius. His fat lazy ass is too busy going to football games, camera mugging at the award shows, and signing autographs at the cons. He needs to stay at home and write! I wouldn't be surprised if he's bought into his own hype at this point, and has writer's block because he's too shook about the possibility of letting people down.
no shyt there's pressure, where are your 5500 pages of incredible storytelling with 4 seasons of a monumental hbo show to go along with it?
what made you think he does this shyt for you? he's a writer, he's gonna write when and how he wants, just be happy you've enjoyed his work so far

I can easily turn that logic around. OUR dollars provide him with an extremely comfortable living. OUR tv viewership has turned his show and him into one of the most talked about subjects in pop culture. He's successful because WE pay to read his work. He didn't do us a favor nikka. He's only where's he's at because of his fans. The least this dude can do for the people who've made him rich is not take 20 years to finish a book series. That's not a lot to ask for. We're begging him to finish so we can give him another five or ten million but we're the azzholes.

breh, you dont own the artist. it just so happens you decide to spend money on shyt he comes up with. let him do what he does. he doesn't owe you shyt, he didn't campaign for you to give him your dollars, you do it because he's a rare talent

Hun, you need to chill the fukk out. I'm a writer too, so I know he can't work non-stop and that he needs breaks. I would never say any of this to his face because I do appreciate his talent and contribution and it would be rather rude. However, as a long-time fan of the books, I can and will continue to express my frustration about how long this series is taking to develop. Especially on forums like this one, you know, a freakin' anonymous message board where I won't offend the author. Unless you're GRRM in disguise, his ghost writer, or his fukking assistant, please ignore any and all of my posts expressing my frustration with the progress of the books. We're probably not going to see eye-to-eye on this issue, and I don't want to stress you out.

Theres a lot of "rare talents" out here working at Subway. There's a lot of "rare talents" on some shelf at Barnes & Noble nobody gives a fukk about. The fans put you there. I don't know what you talking about. And It's fukked up he expects those fans to wait 5 years between each book. Even if he is an "artist", his art has turned into a widely successful commercial entity and as with any business, you don't piss off the people buying your product. I'd say the same shiit if a rapper made people wait 5-6 years between album releases.

I don't wanna disrespect GRRM either. He's an incredible writer and he's created an amazing world. I'm just saying.....I was 7 when the first book came out. I'm 26 now. And he's still not done the series. That's a long azz time, especially for people who've been reading since the very beginning.
This, and the other post you said. Dude is lazy. It is what it is though. Most people would be lazy if they toiled in relative obscurity and then 20+ years into their career blew up and became millionaires. Also the pressure to not fukk it all up has to be insane because now he's in the spotlight.

I already admitted that I'm frustrated with his long drawn out process and at the very real possibility he may not finish. What I can't figure out is why you care so much about why I'm stressed. 
Hence, my advice for you to stop reading and responding to my posts about this frustration I don't get your beef with my opinion. You didn't write this series, like why do you care so much about how I'm feeling about how long its taking him?
