No, it only has to do over 200 million to make a profit.

From what I've read, general rule of thumb is that a movie has to do double its budget for the studio to gain a profit. Majority of profit comes from opening week and after that the movie theaters take in a higher percentage the longer a movie stays in the theater. Plus studios take in less money in foreign markets than domestically.

But this really all depends on how high the Budget for WWZ *really* is (I've read its as high as 400 million) and how high the marketing cost is (which we'll probably never find out, but it's probably high)

Movie will go around the planet and be on dvd. It will recoup.

IDK bruh, Superman's coming to crush the buildings. They should have released over seas this week. World War Z better hope Superman isn't epic, are they may suffer the same fate.

just because a movie makes back its money doesn't mean it's not a flop.

there is very little chance after earth makes back its money domestically. it probably will be a rather large success overseas.. like john carter. that shyt made nearly 300 million worldwide.

the rest of the world loves sci-fi movies and will smith. nobody is fukking with hollywood special effects. and since there's like 3 countries in the world putting out quality movies, they don't really know a shyt movie when they see it.

after earth had a worse opening than john carter though.

both are flops.

nobody i know is interested in seeing wwz.

So that's how Hollywood accounting works, huh? Learn something new everyday.

I was just reading that. Pretty good flick, not reinventing the wheel. And they aren't supposed to. I'm there, its not going to get the biz it deserves, Man of Steel is gonna do the do.
