I just can't see it. what's the rational for believing it will go accoridng to traditions when these are unprecedent times and Trump is already laying the ground works to invalidate the result in Nobember if it doesn't go his way.

Better believe He will encourage his militia white supremacist groups accross to take to the streets with their assault style riffle as well.

Let's start with the military.

Do you see the Joint Chiefs of Staff, along with the 5 star generals in every force, going along with an unlawful attempt to hold onto power?

Barr is Trump's lapdog, but do you see the head and rank of the FBI, DEA, Marshals, ATF, and other federal law enforcement agencies going along with this?

Now to the states... What governor do you see going along with an unlawful hijack attempt? Any attempt at federalization of state national guards would be struck down by any state or federal court. In addition local and state law enforcement report to governors, not the president.

So in such a scenario... Who does Trump have to prevent a peaceful transfer of power?

Even the most conservative of Republicans will respect 230 something years of precedent of peaceful handover of power. If Trump attempts to subvert a loss in the elections he will be opposed at every level of power.
Breh have you been living under a rock for the last 4 years:mjlol:

You still believe in the concept of principled republicans after everything we have seen since 2016?

I do think that a coup would be a step too far, but maybe I'm being naive.
