You all confuse me. The man say's he's black/samoan. How is he supposed embrace his blackness? Is he supposed ot some how shun being samoan? Is that the only way to embrace blackness.

I want real reasoning here, not the coli logic.

There will eventually come a time when it benefits him, and he'll be blackity black. Watch.

Also, I hate to be that guy, but most indigenous pacific islanders are what we in the USA would call "black" if we saw them on the street. American Samoa and Hawaii are somewhat whitewashed because of white American colonization, but if you start researching their pre-colonial kings/queens, you'll find brehs/brehettes. Places like Fiji, Melanesia (it's even in the name!), and papua new guinea, and many more Pacific islands are still very very "black". Melanated people are indigenous to the entire world, but they told us we only came from so-called Sub-Saharan Africa. Not to derail the thread, but I'm in a stream of consciousness mode this morning.

They are dark skin/melanted but they are most definitely not "black" since we have designated that "black" means Afro or descending from sub-sahara Africa. They more closely related to Asians than to black people

Going by this then Indians, Middle easterners, and Native Americans are also "black"

Stop it

Even if we do consider them "black" they still aren't in anyway shape or form related to the African Diaspora

EDIT: This thread is just dumb, the rock is just as Samoan as he is black. He's never downplayed his black side but if he chooses not to embrace it so what, he's not obligated too. for all we know he probably feels more connected to his samoan side and who are we to decide against that? One drop rule got you mfers in a state of burn slow

Yep. Didn’t catch heat until he joined the Nation and became a heel.

This is a bold face lie, the fans hated the Rocky Maivia shyt they used to chant 'Die Rocky Die!' when he came out to the ring cause the gimmick was so corny. He joined the nation and everyone started to love him cause he was talking cash shyt.
