also this is another reason not to hire celebrities in these roles. The characters they're playing are already celebrities. Just as many people know who batman is as Ben Affleck. will smith might be more famous than deadshot but the combined star power of the film would be enough on it's own to get people in the theater.

I think that’s pretty much it. I could be wrong, but to the best of my knowledge, his whole routine back then was say the most over the top shyt possible (on this note, a lot of comedy in general from that 2000-07 period has aged like milk). His old material wasn’t exactly a secret, and I think it had come up in interviews too. The guy who dug them up was entirely acting in bad faith because Gunn is an outspoken critic of trump and all his horrible policies.
