Will's problem though, is that he thinks he's more important than directors. Cruise, Pitt, Leo, Damon, Denzel, etc. all climbed their way to the top by working with major directors. Will Smith has only worked with Tony Scott and Michael Mann (and I guess we can throw in Michael Bay). Compare that to the lists of directors the people above (and Depp/Clooney/etc.) have worked with and it's a wrap. Will's had a hell of a run, but the limitations of his career game plan are becoming obvious.

Trying to argue with that but...can't :ehh:

Will has also had more commercial success than any of those actors you named except for perhaps Depp, I'd have to check the numbers but Will Smith has done EXTREMELY well for himself as an African American male who was at one point in an era, the BIGGEST movie star on the planet. I'm not too keen on criticizing the career choices of a man who is the ONLY actor in history to have eight STRAIGHT films gross over 100 Million, that doesn't really scream a "limited career plan" to me

Now that he's older, his clout in the industry established, and is no longer "burdened" by trying to make a number 1 movie all the time, perhaps he will work with more "respected" directors. And not talking about Quentin Tarintino slave fantasy movies. I'd like to see him continue to bring Black innovators who fly under the radar (I.E. Concussion/Pursuit Of Happyness) to the forefront and tell their stories

Am I the only one that read the article or did it not contradict itself and say they pushed the film back to 2017?
