Nah, they need to. But they need to do it right. See, the first movie was a major cop out. They did not get a whole lot of black voice actors involved so they could disassociate the characters from blackness even though they were in Africa. The roles we got were the king that dies in the beginning of the film, and the loud/ignorant Hyenas.

They've proven there's a market for these live action remakes of stories that have been told long before Disney even existed (Cinderella, sleeping beauty, beauty and the beast, the jungle book) and stuff that's there's, like the lion king. You know, Aladdin would probably be a good live action. Disney has been frustrated with the fact they are branded a girl's market and wanted to expand their audience to include boys (hence why Kingdom Hearts got made). Hercules and Aladdin were a step in making their brand gender neutral but they sort of stopped doing that by the early 2000s.
