Sh-t I meant Gen Z not Gen X.
That's wishful thinking at best. It's gonna be fukked up for black people for at least another 200 years. With these global uprising it changes my view. Especially, what's going on in 3rd world countries & Blacks around the globe. I think we're in for a revolution. We never had that in the 60's. Yeah, the Panthers, but I mean a groundbreaking revolt.
You really believe that? Blacks are kinda bucking back now. Also, I spoke to a White dude from the UK on FB and he's scared about Blacks getting radical. That's wishful thinking at best. It's gonna be fukked up for black people for at least another 200 years.
Ain't no 'kinda'. Lol.You really believe that? Blacks are kinda bucking back now. Also, I spoke to a White dude from the UK on FB and he's scared about Blacks getting radical.
So, you think we just gonna keep on being clapped with no revolt? I think more Micahs will sadly be on the rise.Ain't no 'kinda'. Lol.
Yes I believe it. And so what if you talked to a white person. I talk to white people all the time. Doesn't mean their fears and opinions mean shyt. White people been scared of us being radical the whole time. Not sure why. We the only people that gets ripped off constantly, if not raped/ravaged, and still be tryna be peaceful. Black people have a long way to go. It will be centuries, if ever.
I don't have to think it. I see it everyday. We lost. So, you think we just gonna keep on being clapped with no revolt? I think more Micahs will sadly be on the rise.
Do you think there's something that we could do? Anything?I don't have to think it. I see it everyday. We lost.
Absolutely. I'm not totally nihilistic. One, we need to accept the fact that we lost and stop this narrative that we are still in a war. Ain't no battle going on when white people(as a system) own everything about you including your education, in most cases. If we don't accept that we will never be able to heal.Do you think there's something that we could do? Anything?
Good analysis.Absolutely. I'm not totally nihilistic. One, we need to accept the fact that we lost and stop this narrative that we are still in a war. Next, we need to literally forgive each other and stop pointing the blame. We've got to stop resenting each other, especially for petty things. We need to stop being critical of each other to the point of exclusion. Of course we should be honest. However, so much of our honesty is simply shaming. The only way things will be better is if we communicate with a mind to be constructive first. Our priority should be sharing and building.
So often, you have people that are understandably angry but if you don't accept that it's over and start reacting to the current environment, your people won't survive. Almost every single issue that goads a large reaction from Black people is hallmarked with "and it's been that way!". So often we look at our history the wrong way. People think there is some clandestine knowledge. Realistically, the practical application of the information is seeing how it all went wrong. Reiterated for simplicity, accept that we lost and pick up the pieces. Stop trying to restore something that is not coming back. You should be proud and seek knowledge, but focus on the present. We should never forget or blindly forgive the treatment of our people. However, we must focus on the present issues and utilize our communal cunning to lay a financial and intellectual groundwork for the people coming after us. Millenials need to focus on security.
The very idea of blackness is being erased and you ask if there's a chance that the people that are letting that happen will end racism. No offense but the question answers itself. As it stand, everyone voted no.
I was having this discussion with my father today in the car on how his generation kinda dropped the ball a bit. He was born in 1952. Anyway, I was having this discussion with him after I left the temp service (work this week ) We were discussing Black issues. It got kinda heated.
Joe Gorilla: While I respect your generation you guys did kinda dropped the ball.
Father Joe Gorilla: F-ck you mean we dropped the ball If it weren't for us you guys wouldn't be sh-t. Your generation elected to do drugs and kill your own brother.
Joe Gorilla: Do you know why that exists? When you put impoverished people into a jungle with NO resources what do you expect I don't condone it, but there's a lot of issues. We have to go to the root. See, I'm a Black man in the U.S. That could happen to me. I could be shot down. They look at us as Black.
Father Joe Gorilla: You're a militant. You better think about you and stop concerning yourself with the Black race. Y'all dropped the ball not wanting to listen.
Joe Gorilla: While I respect MLK we should have went the Malcolm route UNTIL we got our resources down packed. Then, we could have slowly integrated when we got the capital. Look at the Jews, Hispanics, and Asians. Riddle me this, why is it that Asians and Arabs can come in our community and not put any thing back? All we have in our community is lying azz slickback headed Pastors. We need real change.
Father Joe Gorilla: I don't know. Also, yall have to do better.
Joe Gorilla: We need honest leadership and another MLK/X type figure.
Father Joe Gorilla: People don't listen to one man anymore. They do their own thing now. Why do you keep up bringing up stats? I don't care.
It then goes to a stalemate and bickering (calls me crazy and militant) Also, went on to say I talk White (& can't break that voice), but they wouldn't accept my azz when I tried to fit in.
Point is, that our generation and the babyboomers are divided. Do you think we will be the change for the Gen X'ers. Can we pick up and establish economic & political power where our people kinda dropped the ball after integration and trying to join White feminism (Black women)?
I became aware after the Mike Brown shooting. Give me your take and yes I'm breaking my pledge of not making a thread. Hell, Doobie Doo makes more than me and I won't even be on the rest of the week.
Like I said, I respect my parents generation. However, we have a higher incarcertion rate NOW than we did THEN. 2,300,000 people are locked up in the U.S. right now.
P.S. I meant Black millennials.

I've brought this up over and over.you and your pops are wasting time...arguing over nothing....
what we need is business men and women to create jobs and wealth in our communities...
we'll never be free as a people as long as you have to go running to someone white for a 'job'
from there....crime could be almost eliminated by offering opportunitities to our people....thus keeping them from doing dumb shyt and ending up in the 'system' which ultimately ends with prison...
