Serena knows that Maria is the only one that can challenge her just not on the court as the best, but off of it as the face of women's tennis. Serena will look sloppy, make a ton of mistakes, come off like she's half-assing for an entire tournament, then the second she's faced with Maria she becomes Perfect Cell and wipes the floor with her.

The official time of Saturday’s women’s final at the Australian Open was one hour, 51 minutes. In reality, it ended in minute six. Maria Sharapova opened the match to serve. She had two game points. Serena Williams smacked those coldhearted winners that have defined their “rivalry” over the past 11 years on both. When Serena got her turn on break point, Sharapova double-faulted.

They might as well have given Serena the trophy then.

Roger beating Rafa

If Maria can't fix her serve she'll never beat Serena, Baseline/Ground Strokes they're pretty even
Serena has her beat in way more than the serve, the backhand is better, the movement is way better, the net game is way better, her ball placement is better. They were 3 and 3 with aces in the first set and she won the first set 6/3, obviously Serena has a way better serve, but that's not all that seperates them.

You can beat Serena by being a Pusher, you don't have to hit winners.

Just make sure your ground strokes have good depth ... That's Why Azerenka is always competitive vs Serena

Sharapova can't get a good 1st Serve in 50% of the time, Serena will murder you spin in 2nd Serves
