But no one remembers P talking about being worth $600 mil. P had the best record deal out of any of the folks mentioned so he made more selling less while flipping his money into all types of ventures. The key is to not look washed up. And to many people, P and No Limit were passing fads that people look at almost a joke now. There's a reason people respect Birdman more even though P did WAY more on his own than Birdman ever did.
who respects birdman more than master p aside from a bunch of noobs and casuals? lets be reality, no limit had the most impressive run out of all these rap crew labels. not to mention that no limit changed the landscape of hip-hop.
and are we gonna act like master p was selling less than most of these dudes youre naming. master p and others on no limit were top sellers. and even the midcard & bottom-feeder artists were going gold. lets not throw backhanded compliments out there man. lets keep it 100. he sold more than most of these dudes and he did it with alot less promotion and made more money even when his chit wasnt selling anymore.
lets be really real. the real reason why master p's legacy is tarnished in the eyes of some is because they threw shade on him for owning his own chit and put up blockbuster numbers without blockbuster promotion. the industry hated that chit, white folks hated that chit and the east coast hated the fact that one of our own didnt have the distinction of being the one to do what master p did. and he still came out here and rocked our major venues.
and most of the people that still maintain that no limit and other southern artists from the south's golden era were wack, are currently listening to the INFERIOR southern music of today, simply because theyve been brain-trained to think that this chit is hot because its all thats on the radio.
