His activity rate is so high and his IQ for the small stuff is top tier. that he could ramp and be getting starter minute contract money.

The trade for Afflalo made since at the time. He was a proven player that would help the bench. Wes was having a great year and Afflalo was someone who could play a backup role without a major drop off. McCollum was always hurt. They had to have a nice playoff run to have any chance to keep Aldridge.

I'm happy for Barton. I wanted him to succeed in Portland, but if Wes never got hurt and we kept Aldridge it would have been worth it.

Imo, wes Matthews is the best pedigreed dribble drive shooting guard in the league.
When, he was on Utah..the showcase of dribble drive mastery.

All you had to do was watch him play or look at the numbers. They were dreadful and with the article showing how jealous he was of Lillard and sensitive in general, you can put two and two together.

Barton has had fans here going back to Memphis. Stat mongers thought he'd develop nicely as long as he could put on weight (that was my concern with him but otherwise loved his game)

He's definitely going to be one of the better SGs in the league. He has the tools. You saw flashes of his ability whenever Stotts would unleash him during a blowout in Portland

I think CJ is going to be better though. CJ has everything offensively except elite size for the two guard position. I love watching him play

It's to think the Blazers had Matthews, Barton, AND CJ at the two guard position at the same fukkin time. And they had Meyers Leonard too their scouting department is on point
