It's just awareness and strength that he will gain as he gets older and more versed in the game.
On ball he can be lock down at time but off ball he gets lost. This improves with experience. The tools are there.

That's cool but he hasn't hit either way as of yet
He wasn't drafted based on defense, he was drafted based on the combination of offense and defense, and he will be a two way player with a better coach you see flashes of it all the time.
21 ppg on 46% in his second year isn't hitting?
