1. :heh: who are people like me? i don't remember saying anything about "bad music". i'm also pretty sure i'm either older or the same age as you...

2. in regards to the post i quoted again it makes no sense because payola is about bribing radio station execs and djs to play certain songs/artist. the type of music pandora plays is dependent on the genre or artist the listerner chose. for example if i made a slum village radio station on pandora the likely hood of hearing a lil wayne song is pretty slim because he doesn't fit in that profile. on youtube the user actively searches out the music they want. that's why your statement about pandora/youtube doesn't make sense because it's not talking about individual artist but the popularity of pop music and country music...:manny:

Top Stations Music - Listen to Top Stations - Free on Pandora Internet Radio

#1 Today's Hits

Justin Timberlake, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Pink, Icona Pop…

#2 Today's Country

Tim McGraw, Blake Shelton, Jake Owen, Luke Bryan…

Top Music Videos

The top music on these stations are the EXACT same music as the top music on the Radio Stations. It's not Payola that determines what get's played, It's RATINGS. and Ratings are determined by market demand.

The Radio Station that plays the Right type of music will get the most ratings. The station with the most ratings will get the most advertising dollars.

If I owned a radiostation, I would play top-of-the-pops all day and everyday because I want to maximize my profits by the hour. I would not take a risk playing music that I personally like. Why would I take a pay-off from a Vendor (music company) when it would upset my customers and send them to my competition(playing non top-of-the-pops)?

it's not really up to the listeners.. you have the internet if you don't want to accept it.
